GCube Advisory Council 2024

To kickstart October, we invited leaders from the North American renewable energy insurance market to join us for our annual two-day Advisory Council meeting at Balboa Bay Resort, California.

Joined by a fine array of underwriters, brokers, insureds, and industry specialists, the event continued to stimulate important and candid discussion about the state of our market, providing a forum to appraise what we are doing well as a collective and where we must collaborate to secure the industry’s sustainable development.

Now in its 21st iteration, it is fantastic to see that the Advisory Council is just as attuned as ever to the key topics that shape renewable energy insurance in North America today. In particular, this year’s event addressed:

- The impact of the IRA on US renewables in the last few years
- The evolution of risk profiles to manage in renewables over the past decade
- Growing insurer appetite for BESS
- The complexity of construction claims
- The insurability and bankability of US projects amidst increasingly severe Nat Cat events
