TMGX Advisory Council 2025

This September, we gathered at the stunning Stein Eriksen Lodge in Utah for the 22nd edition of our Advisory Council, with this year marking the first under the Tokio Marine GX (TMGX) name.

Over two days, the event brought together leaders from across the North American renewable energy insurance market for candid discussion and expert insight into the opportunities and challenges shaping our industry today.

We opened with reflections on the 25-year journey that has led to TMGX, followed by a forward-looking perspective on how the market must adapt. This session also introduced our latest report, It’s Not Easy Writing Green, launched exclusively at the event.

The agenda then explored a range of pressing issues shaping the market, including:

• Challenges and successes of scaling up as a renewables developer
• Global trade policy shifts reshaping project timelines, costs, and claims
• State and local politics influencing the future of U.S. clean energy
• Managing risk in an era of unpredictable weather
• Engineering, contracting, and building challenges at ever-larger projects
• The need for insurers to meet a growing ‘protection gap’ to support a resilient green transformation
